I walked outside and this is what I discovered!
And somehow I found this in my things that came back from Davis, and since you can't buy these anywhere in Alturas, I found it amazing and special.
It's not blue ribbon for nothing.
It has been storming here lately, and one afternoon when I was working in Cedarville, I walked outside to "smoke" and this is what I saw. I don't know why but seriously, every time I sit out on this patio, I see the best views. I really love this field and the mountains and the sky is ALWAYS amazing. Plus, there is a lake with an ice chest full of beer and some fish to be caught out there(!) with a camp fire and camping to be done, but only with the honorary passing of the oyster can.

Bonfire!
Well a week ago we had a bonfire and it was pretty tight. It all started when Ash started drinking at like 1530, what a champ. Anyway, I guess Coal was up there drinking with her and then finished a 12er by the time I got there, needless to say it was a pretty toasted night (as you can tell from the smiles-not that we aren't happy people, shiny-happy people....dancing).
This next one is actually a really good picture I think.

Pretty cool shot from a hill.
FIIIIIRRRRREEEEEE!
It was a pretty big flame, good thing too because it was balls cold out there.
The stars were really pretty though.
And I made it to work on time the next day too...I am such a trooper. Tonight is Mothing's birthday celebration because she was working yesterday and I was sick (puking my guts out). So we are going to go to the Rail and probably the Rose. Have a nice weekend, I will be in Redding tomorrow, maybe I will see something cool. Also, tonight the wind was blowing really hard and the sun was setting, so to the West there was a patch of light, bright blue sky with clouds lining over it that had that sunray light around it. Then to the East the sky was, I kid you not, periwinkle! I took some pictures and will look later to see if the camera caught the magic of it all, but textbook periwinkle. The only thing that was lacking was unicorns and I would have thought I was in a fairytale. Aw.
P.s. Have I mentioned how excited I am that the year is 2010? 1020, 2010, same thing only one is backwards. Ha!

FIRE!
So the purpose of this fire was to burn some things we cut down in the garden, however my Mothing ended up wanting to just watch the fire burn and be warm, rather than deal with smoke and intolerance of green brush. Silly Mothing. It was a pretty nice fire regardless of the chore.
