I ate the best salad berkeley had to offer....

It was called Italian, and it contained: artichoke hearts, tomatoes, mozzarella, grilled green and red bell peppers, garbanzo beans, romaine and arugula lettuce, and came with a vinaigrette. Of course I added pepper and didn't eat the focaccia bread, because I am Rachel and I can.

Then we proceeded to walk around Berkeley in monkey masks. People smiled, children waved. and at one place we were stalked by paparazzi and had to take like 5 different pictures with people at the restaurant (where we were just getting a beer). I feel like my fifteen minutes of fame has come and passed all because of a monkey mask. Later, we met a professor of women and arts, who initially mistook us for "guerilla girls," a group of women that go to feminist art shows and tear bad representations of feminism/art of the walls. After explaining we were not, said, "gorilla girls," she proceeded to invite us to be her VIP guests at the next feminist art show, showcasing feminism and the recession. Basically it was a badass day. Here are some monkeys monkeying around.

Also, we had a dance off and are planning to make a music video. World prepare yourself.

I know, I am the shit. Praise me. Just kidding. No. Really. Don't.

Cedarville!

I took PhamPham and rjenna to Cedarville to see my hospital friends and say goodbye to my mothing and on our way out of town (we went the back way to Reno), this is what they thought was awesome.

It is funny because when I am looking through those pictures on my computer, it looks like PhamPham just disappears from that second to last picture. I guess you would need to see to understand what the fuck I am talking about. That is okay, I am okay with you thinking that I am cray cray to the max extreme.

I found this really cool website it is called "I Write Like," and you paste some text from things that you have written and it will tell you what author you write like. So far I have been David Foster Wallace, Agatha Christie, Raymond Chandler, and Stephen King. Weird pairings. Have fun searching and stay tuned for a possible new blog soon...I keep talking about it and not doing it, I need to stop talking about it and do it, that was a note to self, by the way.

And for your enjoyment:

The other day I made breakfast..

I am, apparently, the cook when I hang out with my friends. I have been very spoiled by Ash always cooking! So, I attempted some faux-gourmet eggs over easy, on toast, with a crisp leaf of green lettuce, a homemade sauce, topped with feta. This is what it looked like:

Anyone want me over for breakfast?

Bridal Shower!

So first of all, especially if you are a nine year old kid, don't try to beat me at a game! We are playing that "don't cross your legs, or I will take your clothes-pin" game, and this kid is like going crazy taking everyones pin and rubbing it in our faces. You know me, so I wasn't going to have any of that, I patiently wait. And waited. And waited. Finally, I see her sitting and fighting to keep her legs apart and then BOOM, someone gets her attention and she crosses her legs, and guess who was there to collect all the pins? That's right, ME! Chew on that fat kid.

Here is what I did with them:

Then there were more pictures from this day, but SOMEONE (Tunnel) hasn't posted them yet. or linked me to the post. Anyway we went fishing and I caught two!

Then I took Tunnel to Red Bluff, and we stopped in a field during road construction.

Whoa, then I just found these pictures, but I was trying to be late for work because I am always on time, so I pulled over and took pictures.

And I was going to pick you a flower but didn't want it to die so I just took a picture of it! Peace!

Stickers and Yard Sales!

So while Auntie and Tunnel were home we had a surprise birthday party for Auntie and it was ELVIS THEMED! awesome! Here are the pictures from that, then I would like to impart on you some awesome sites from a yard sale I went to.

Elvis has left the building!

Now on to the coolest yard decorations ever!

That's right, that is a bathtub fountain!

And a bench made out of horseshoes!!!

What another bathtub fountain!!!!!

Yep! THREE, I kid you not, THREE bathtub fountains!!!!!! I really want one!!!

And some freaking awesome old school farming equipment!!!

Then we ate at the Auction yard, I had my usual (2 eggs over easy, sausage, hash browns, and wheat toast!) because I didn't want to risk getting a stomach ache from the famous, and oh(!), so delicious biscuits and gravy.

After that I used some duct tape to fix my already janky drums, the hi-hat was broken, which I later had to re-fix it because duct tape does not hold up to the drumming of one, Rachel Lloyd.

Next up on livin-n-lingo.....Bridal Shower of Madness! Just kidding on the madness part, but also, does anyone know why I chose "livin-n-lingo" as my blog name? If you do message me and I will give you a beer.

GAGA gLee

I was a little disappointed with gLee this week. That makes me really sad because I love Gaga (we are on a first name basis). This was the best part though.

I could not find a video that showed the clip from the show....boo.

Open House

What was once a boring tour of the high school, is now a miniature children's fair high school style! I attended this event and I was a mad scientist! Muhahahaha!

As a mad scientist I amaze children!

I mix potions! (with the assistance of my lovely assistant!)

I look like I am talking into a microphone, yet I am really giving orders!

This is a spread of my jaw dropping amazement!

This is a freaking sweet foosball table one of the wood shop students made....beautiful. Too bad it wasn't finished, otherwise I would have beat some ass!

DUDE! BBQs!!!!!!

HAHAHAH, he is flipping you off! The kids doing, not mine!!! hahahaha.

Me in my class room showing a reaction! Acid and bases rule! (and they are pretty!!)

Modoc II to come later, stay tuned! :)

Prom 2010

So, given my current job I am required to attend pretty much all school functions. At first I thought this was going to suck, but now that I know the students and am more involved, I really enjoying going to the events. We had Prom at the Niles Hotel, which is a historic landmark in Modoc County. The place is amazing and super old. I think that it has a lot of potential to become an awesome place, if someone was willing to invest the time and the money to make it happen. Needless to say anyplace that has history, ghosts, and reminds me of the early 1900's is alright in my books. Because of the location of Prom, I decided to dress to the location instead of to the theme, which was Grecian Gardens. So, here is my attempt at old school bartender (because I was chaperoning behind the bar, mixing non-alcoholic drinks for people with a student of mine):

That is a pretend pour by the way.

Here I am enjoying a wonderful Shirley Temple, of my own creating!

Down the bar...

Flowers left on the bar from a royalty member.

The last daiquiri of the night had to be a good one!

This is sort of what it looked like, I really enjoyed the decorations; it is amazing how much a few strands of Christmas lights will bring a place together!

I was bored the last hour of the dance, and exhausted the next two days, but I think this experience was well worth it!

P.S. Here is a picture I like of the lights all blurry!
