What was once a boring tour of the high school, is now a miniature children's fair high school style! I attended this event and I was a mad scientist! Muhahahaha!
As a mad scientist I amaze children!
I mix potions! (with the assistance of my lovely assistant!)
I look like I am talking into a microphone, yet I am really giving orders!
This is a spread of my jaw dropping amazement!
This is a freaking sweet foosball table one of the wood shop students made....beautiful. Too bad it wasn't finished, otherwise I would have beat some ass!
DUDE! BBQs!!!!!!
HAHAHAH, he is flipping you off! The kids doing, not mine!!! hahahaha.
Me in my class room showing a reaction! Acid and bases rule! (and they are pretty!!)
Modoc II to come later, stay tuned! :)

Prom 2010
So, given my current job I am required to attend pretty much all school functions. At first I thought this was going to suck, but now that I know the students and am more involved, I really enjoying going to the events. We had Prom at the Niles Hotel, which is a historic landmark in Modoc County. The place is amazing and super old. I think that it has a lot of potential to become an awesome place, if someone was willing to invest the time and the money to make it happen. Needless to say anyplace that has history, ghosts, and reminds me of the early 1900's is alright in my books. Because of the location of Prom, I decided to dress to the location instead of to the theme, which was Grecian Gardens. So, here is my attempt at old school bartender (because I was chaperoning behind the bar, mixing non-alcoholic drinks for people with a student of mine):
That is a pretend pour by the way.
Here I am enjoying a wonderful Shirley Temple, of my own creating!
Down the bar...
Flowers left on the bar from a royalty member.
The last daiquiri of the night had to be a good one!
This is sort of what it looked like, I really enjoyed the decorations; it is amazing how much a few strands of Christmas lights will bring a place together!
I was bored the last hour of the dance, and exhausted the next two days, but I think this experience was well worth it!
P.S. Here is a picture I like of the lights all blurry!

Slacker McSlackson
So, as you might have noticed I have been slacking a lot on my blogging. I blame it on traveling, work, not sitting in front of the computer, and also that I have not had my laptop in a long time. Well, guess what ladies and gentlemen, I now have my computer back and I intend to make use of it. Starting tomorrow I am hoping to be back at my normal 3-4 blogs per week and also take you through the glorious process of moving/finding a job all while still maintaining the crazy things I do in the mean time. As for right now I am drawing and listening to records, so expect tomorrow's blog to be full of all things good and rocky! (Foreshadow, hint, hint, foreshadow...) Oh, and I am trying to convince my students to make a music video, so if you have a song suggestion, let's hear it!
P.S. A woman over the age of 60 called me "lady," I could be here granddaughter! LADY YOURSELF GRANDMA! Or if you must call me lady, at least call me "Lady Rara."
P.S.S. THERE WAS SNOW ON THE GROUND WHEN I WOKE UP THIS MORNING!!!! NOT LIKE A LITTLE LIKE OVER AN INCH....WTF IT"S MAY!

Birthday
Check out the facebook to see all the pictures, I broke down and uploaded them to facebook even though I hate doing that because then I feel like I can't blog about them because it takes away the specialness of it all. I was a little shocked that I didnt take pictures of the food that we made during the week or all the sushi that I ate because let me tell you that was a lot of sushi! And I plan on eatting more when I go back this weekend for picnic day. Picnic day pictures will be blogged about first then after a week or so added to facebook in order to maintain the blog traffic!
Puppy brought another bird into the house last night at 4am!!!! I was pissed stupid thing killed the damn bird right in front of the monitor and now there are blood stains all over the floor. Good thing mothing woke up too. Although I don't see how you could sleep though the noise of a dying bird, it is not for the faint hearted! Hopefully have more to blog about tomorrow or next week, we will see how busy I am. Travelling definitely takes away from the blog time. But then again so does this job.
P.S. My students rule!!!

One of the easiest ways I've made money
(excluding that one time on the corner...)
The last two days I have been substitute teaching for elementary level kids in 01: music and today 02: computers. Let me tell you something about kids, they say some pretty awesome and some pretty random things. I'm glad to never have to deal with them on a 24/7 basis, but it was fun watching them play/sing to "Grizzly Bear," and "Old Gray Cat." Crazy kids.
Only imagine this: a small room with 20 kids and you in it, you have never heard this song before, and the kids are singing along with a cd player. You forget to pay attention once the song starts, and the kids get really, really quite (because they love this song), then BAM! The grizzly wakes up, and the kids laugh at you because you jumped in fright! Good times.
Only in our rendition, the kids crawled around the room girls the cat, and boys the mice, and then chased each other. a fun musical game of tag. :)
So this one kid and I had an interesting discussion:
Yesterday in Music
Kid: "You like black a lot, don't you?"
Me: "Yeah, I guess I do." (looks down at what I'm wearing) "Only my pants are black."
Kid: "But your shirt has black in it, and so do your shoes. And that yellow just really sticks out."
Me: "Hmmm....ok, anyway..."
Today in Computers
Kid: "You again!"
Me: "Yep, still here."
Kid: "You REALLY DO like black!"
Me: "It is my favorite color."
Kid: "Does anyone call you Goth? Black pants, black shirt, black fingernails, black on your wrist, black heart on your shoe..."
Me: "No."
Other kid: "Goth."
Weird kids I tell you.
01: My shirt was maroon the first day, my pants were dark purple the second day, my shoes were purple, one day I had rainbow shoe laces, AANNND I like to wear black.
02: I so do not look Gothic.
03: That was a really hilarious experience.

Hard Days Night
And I'm working like a dog. If only my life was like a Beatles song, wouldn't it be nice (not to accidently quote the Beach Boys....ekk).
and just for fun because I love the Beatles:

Substitute Teacher: Ms. Gover
Well, today I subbed for the art teacher who teaches both high school and middle art to a variety of students. Aside from the rowdy boys, it is a good paying gig. My 7th period middle school students are the "rowdy" class according to my outline, and they ended up telling me that everyday they are supposed to have 5 minutes of quiet time. However today, they were supposed to have 7 minutes because they were bad the day before. They also told me that if someone talks during quiet time, they get detention. What great kids. Anyway, tomorrow they told me they want 5, no 10, no 20 minutes of quiet time, and I told them, good because 20 is my favorite number. For being a really loud/active class, they sure like their quiet time.
My day went by fast and I feel like I have a lot more time to my day. Probably because I got off work at 1500 instead of 1830 in Surprise, and also I woke up at 0630 instead of 0500 for Surprise, and also because I didn't have to lift anybody or wipe any asses. Fantastic. Don't get me wrong, I like my job in Surprise. But this is a refreshing break. The difficult part will come when I have to make the lesson plans myself for four science classes (2 x Chemistry, 2 x Earth Science).
On another note I just found out that Picnic Day '10 is on April 17th, making it oh-so-perfect timing for the concert I want to see on the 19th. Booya world, thank you universe and have a good night. I will be going to bed early as I have another day of art ahead of me.

Simply complex
So, no work today. That must mean that my Livescan hasn't come back yet. Blah. Perhaps tomorrow. I had a dream about a really cool house that I lived in. This thing was tight. I cannot tell you about it though, because then you might steal my ideas. Oh, I started writing all my dreams down in a journal (because I got 4 of them for Christmas, there is now one for every area of the house I go to, except the bathroom) that I leave next to my bed at night. Considering I wake up like 2-3 times throughout the night, I have a lot of dreams. So far since I started this, there hasn't been a dreamless night. Maybe I should do as my ancestors did and make a dream catcher, so at least all my dreams will be good ones.
On another note, Arrested Development is on hulu and I have been watching it everyday. That show was genius. When I am not working, doing my normal shenanigans, or watching AD this is what I do:
I have purchased this game and I have spend a little over an hour playing it. It is amazing, and you should buy it too! You can give any amount of donation you want until the 15th. I spent a dollar. $1 + free time = crayon physics! Here is a trailer.
