One of the easiest ways I've made money

(excluding that one time on the corner...)

The last two days I have been substitute teaching for elementary level kids in 01: music and today 02: computers. Let me tell you something about kids, they say some pretty awesome and some pretty random things. I'm glad to never have to deal with them on a 24/7 basis, but it was fun watching them play/sing to "Grizzly Bear," and "Old Gray Cat." Crazy kids.

Only imagine this: a small room with 20 kids and you in it, you have never heard this song before, and the kids are singing along with a cd player. You forget to pay attention once the song starts, and the kids get really, really quite (because they love this song), then BAM! The grizzly wakes up, and the kids laugh at you because you jumped in fright! Good times.

Only in our rendition, the kids crawled around the room girls the cat, and boys the mice, and then chased each other. a fun musical game of tag. :)

So this one kid and I had an interesting discussion:

Yesterday in Music
Kid: "You like black a lot, don't you?"
Me: "Yeah, I guess I do." (looks down at what I'm wearing) "Only my pants are black."
Kid: "But your shirt has black in it, and so do your shoes. And that yellow just really sticks out."
Me: "Hmmm....ok, anyway..."

Today in Computers
Kid: "You again!"
Me: "Yep, still here."
Kid: "You REALLY DO like black!"
Me: "It is my favorite color."
Kid: "Does anyone call you Goth? Black pants, black shirt, black fingernails, black on your wrist, black heart on your shoe..."
Me: "No."
Other kid: "Goth."

Weird kids I tell you.
01: My shirt was maroon the first day, my pants were dark purple the second day, my shoes were purple, one day I had rainbow shoe laces, AANNND I like to wear black.
02: I so do not look Gothic.
03: That was a really hilarious experience.
